My interest in history originated from reading through the many hundreds of books my father had collected on diverse topics ranging from the Crimean War to religious reformers in the 18th Century. The subject remains a passion and I am interested in pretty much any era or subject. I particularly like wandering around the streets of London locating the stranger things that the capital has to offer (ask me for the location of a whalebone gate for example).
My interest in history is matched (but probably not equalled) by my interest in film photography and film cameras. My collection ebbs and flows but focuses around an old 1957 Leica M3, a Hasselblad 500 and the new addition of a Rolleiflex Automat. All the photographs on this site are my own and they are all self-developed (any imperfections are entirely of my own making).
